I had the honor to host TedxLA #IMAGINE week & the TedxLA annual event ( December 3rd at the Dolbi theater). I felt so thrilled because Ted talks events are specifically about "ideas worth spreading".
Basically you prepare a talk that should be no longer than 15 minutes. During that time frame, you must explain your message and why your idea is worth spreading.
As a host, I spent the entire week going to different talks and absorbing the speakers ideas, passion and messages. It was incredible to be surrounded by a crowd open to listen, to understand, even to be surprise. We had a diverse bunch of speakers, Doctors, Enterpreneurs, Directors, Nasa engineers, etc.
Throughout the night at some point, the ideas started to become contagious. Then I noticed, what was really getting us contagious was the fact that we (the audience) wanted to support our fellow speakers. They had such passion and focus to deliver their message that couldn't help but to root for them.
We are here to support and to give the best of us to others.
The speakers were spreading their ideas and the audience were open to receive it. The results, was " to support each other". It felt like there was magic in the room.
It's not about how much we give but how much love we put into the giving. ;-)
